A Truck sent rocks flying my way this morning.

I didn't see the one that got my grille, if I had I would have gotten his license plate.
I'm bummed.

If the rock came from the road the truck is not liable. If the rock came off of the truck they are but hard to prove. I have found the only way to keep an nice car is to never drive it. I had a car with perfect paint job. Driving on the freeway the back window fell out of a mine van and I drove through a cloud of broken glass. No one was liable.

The rocks definitely came off the truck.
If I had pulled behind and gotten the plate there was also a trooper just a few cars back.
Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda...

Wonder if Grundy covers this kind of thing...

Look at it this way. You were probably debating whether to get the grille fixed because of the pin pulling out, now you have a good reason to have it done over or go for a different grille without feeling guilty about it. I've never made a claim on my Grundy insurance, but I'd wonder if a relatively small claim might affect your coverage in the future? I'd check around with some folks that made a claim like this to see if they had any problems being reinsured or having their rates rise later.

Thanks Rick, I'll do that.
I've never claimed anything either, even when the neighbors backed into the front of the car previously.

That's got to hurt, Rick. Ouch!

I spent half an hour waiting for the Grundy Customer Service to answer.
Then I filled in a report online.
Wish they would put a few more people on to staff the phones during working hours.

Rick, I would bet that any comprehensive clause in a insurance policy should cover that. Would give you a chance to start over and may be a blessing in disguise!

On the subject of the truck, the Reagan era is when we got rid of all the rail roads and moved all the freight to truck's. We have a huge quarry operation close by an the same thing happens all the time. Our roads are ruined by them as well as damage to our vehicles but...hey..we can't get in the way of business! Federal road dollars go to making new roads to suburb's and turning 4 lane's into 6 or 8 lanes while all the nice 2 lane highways in rural America fall apart.

Rant over!

Kurt

Kurt, I feel your pain.
A bunch of my own too. :(

I'm supposed to hear back from Grundy within 24 hours (18 hours now).
Hopefully it will be positive.
