A trek to the middle of nowhere...

Last week I went for a brief three-day road trip to the southeast corner of Alberta, a very dry grasslands area with very low population and lots of scenes of abandoned buildings and vehicles and such... About 750 photos later this is some of what I got, I haven't finished the editing yet and likely won't return to the editing until later in the year as I'm now rather busy with some upcoming festivals...

Take a look here... https://www.flickr.com/photos/sherlock77/sets/72157627273478621 ... I thought these photos might interest some folks

How remote you ask? Just look up google maps and look for Foremost, Alberta and then explore with your eyes east and west along Highway 61 from there, Manyberries furthest to the east had to close their only restaurant for the few residents, because companies refused to deliver there anymore as it was deemed to be too far out of the way, especially for just one delivery... The saloon at the hotel still sells basic pub food that the owner has to drive out to purchase, a very different world...

I'm with Basil. Plus, it is nice to take a trip to nowhere, thanks.

Very neat. I'd like to go there sometime.

Yeah, it is good to go somewhere like that, since I live in a very urban setting...

Ben, it's a great place to visit, lots of open road, not many people, and a word of warning, lots of gravel roads too...

And flat! Cool dasher, great pics

I think the TR2 needs to go there and get riddled with stone chips! hehehehe. I'll re-blast 'em with a coat of primer when I get home.

Yup JP, and flat...

Although there are hills just to the east of there...

Banjo... Plus lots of dust in the interior too...
