After 30 years of intermittantly driving LBC's (TR2, TR3, 2TR6's), life throws curves and sometimes you forget to duck. There is a very good chance that I may be selling my beloved TR6. My question to you all.....is anyone out there interested. If you have any serious interest, drop me a PM with an email address and I will be happy to send a complete and rather lengthy list of all that has been done to the car, with photos, and an honest representation of the vehicle. Basically, to lay the ground rules, I have over $35K invested and will ask a firm $15K. Remember, it is a driver.

This isn't necessarily chipped in stone, but it looks like this is where I will be heading.

I sure hope that this is a bad dream when I wake up tomorrow.....

Bill, I'm certainly sorry to hear that. I know how things happen, though.
Hopefully, things will work themselves out.
In any case, I wish you well.

Bill,

Truly sorry to hear of your impending decision. What ever you decide I hope it all works out for the best!

Hope you can find a way to keep it. You built a great TR6, you deserve to get to enjoy it. Good luck whatever happens...

Be a shame to see you have to pass it on, but best luck to you. Gotta do what you gotta do.

Bill,

Hang in there. I'll keep you in my thoughts. I'm sure all of us here will.

Sheesh Bill-

I hope its not because I didn't want to let you use my TR4!
Seriously, I wish you the best and know that it'll be fine no matter what you decide. Sure will miss your good humor and advice around here, though, if you move on to other things.

Bill,
As someone who has sold a lot of cars after a straw broke a specific camel's back, I would urge to try to step back for a moment and make sure that this is really what you want to do. From what we've all seen here, you are very passionate about your TR6, and while there will always be another LBC, it might cost so much later that it will be prohibitive.

On the other side of the coin, there's more to life than cars. Again, there will always be another LBC should you want one in the future.

Bill,

Of anyone on this forum.. or any other forum, I enjoy reading your posts the most. I've said a couple times that I think I would enjoy meeting up with you to swap stories and I meant it. If you do have to sell you TR6, I think the LBC world will have lost one of it's great personalities... or at the very least this forum.

My car being very similar to yours, I know the blood, sweat and tears that you have in her and because of that, I know that it must have been hard to start this post.

Sometimes life throws curves at you, I know I've come and inch from selling my TR a couple times. But if that happens, I bet my wire wheel that we'll see you again in a couple years.

In the mean time, try to hold on to that beast.

Take care,
Shannon

Just because he is selling his 6 doesn't mean he has given up the sports car craze. I see something else in his future and if I am right I say go for it and enjoy.

I am always on the verge of selling everything, but I know I'll miss it too much...I hope you can find a way to keep your TR, and if you do choose to sell it I hope you'll still stick around here as a part of the BCF.

I'm always checking out what the dog with the cigar
has to say. Hope things work out for the best Bill.

Bill, as a freshman member your expertise has been referred to on many occasions. Hope to continue following your advice. Many thanks, Andrew. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

DON'T DO IT BILL!!! Trust me on this, you'll always regret the one you let get away. If you have any options, do your best to hold on to your pride and joy - a little suffering will make it that next ride that much sweeter.

Like what has been said before me, you will be missed. But hey, you don't have to own the car to still partake in the forum. You might still be able to get your chatter in, keep an eye on current events, developments etc... and when the time is right ease your transition back to LBC ownership.

Good luck with that curve ball.

If the curve was only recently thrown. Wait awhile before deciding what to do. Emotions cloud your judgement in the near term. A few weeks contemplating the problem and your options, should help you make the correct decision. Hopefully it will be to keep the car.
Plus the fact that you owe all of us. We've been very paitent, quitely waiting for the results of the rubber match when you find that Honda that blew your doors off.

Best wishes, Thanks for the advice and wishes
for oil on the waters for a smooth sailed journey.
