And then there's this:

A recent study found that the average American walks about 900 miles in a year.

Another study found Americans drink, on average, 22 gallons of alcohol a year.

That means, on average, Americans get about 41 miles to the gallon.

Kind of makes you proud to be American, doesn't it?!

 :lol:I try to live up to my share, but my mileage may be a bit lower.

The good thing about the rising gas prices is that the free market will force the big gas guzzlers off the road.

I'm still seeing SUV's flyin' down the highways here... you'd ~think~ the owners of those things would at LEAST slow to the speed limit now.

I look forward to a day when six cylinders is considered a "big" engine... and NOT seeing my mirrors full of SUV grillwork two feet off th' stern at 70 MPH.

and if you watched the Monaco race the people who own those monster yachts in the harbour don't give a rats about the price of fuel.

hehehe :iagree: Those babies measure consumption in gallons per mile (and a fill-up is measured in hundreds of gallons!), and that's diesel too (which is now at over $6.00/gal in the Bahama Islands now)!!

Heck, it's FIVE over here! I'm wonderin' how to put Diesela out to pasture!
