I am looking for an A-series engine block that has 3 cam bearings.

The block I have has only one installed cam bearing the other 2 are just the cast iron block.

I live in California. The engine is a 948.

G'day Rod,
Your enquiry might get more response from the Sprite owners on their dedicated forum. You may have a Morris Minor engine. I believe the A-Series engine used in the Austin-Healey Sprite differed from the Morris Minor unit in having the extra camshaft bearings. On the Minor (and possibly also the Austin A30) the camshaft runs in the block.
Cheers,
Alwyn

Throw the 948 block away and get a 1275. From what I’ve seen, upgrading to a 1275 does not lower the value of a classic Spidget. I have a few of these, also a 970cc race motor.
