It was not “blood spattered”, and the graffiti was on the West side. Would not dare to do that on the East. Interestingly enough - fitting for the use here - the demise of GDR was helped by religious organizations. The government was officially atheist, but folks went to church anyways. Point being, the church was one of the places where the Stasi was not paying quite so much attention, and it became a secure place to talk.
The human spirit is strong; right tends to prevail, albeit at a cost.
Car content: a bmw Isetta was a successful smuggling vehicle, taking nine folks out before being caught on the tenth attempt. No border agent thought it was possible to hide a body inside such a small car... human ingenuity!
