A rare find!

Yeah...it's got the rare, Bugeye "high back" seat option too! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

That's cause they came that way in 68. I see they taped off the side lights too.

Isn't that what all the vintage racers are doing... aerodynamics! Take off the grill to allow for more air, bolt on a long chrome ballast and add high back seats to prevent whiplash. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

You guys laugh, but you know what, whatever the year, that does look to be a fair example of a real BE, mis-identified as a 68, with nasty seats added, the wrong tach, etc. but that is not just a BE hood on a newer car, that looks like a pretty complete, original 948 to me!! (humm, I have a title /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cowboy.gif !!) Doc. It's right in your 'hood! You should check that out! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I'd need to be 25 yers younger and dumber to go after that poor thing. It likely can be brought back from the dead but not by me. I still have the "Super Spridget" to pull back from the precipice.

Exactly the point. Mine's only going back together for sentemental reasons. (I've had it since I was 13) Otherwise it would be a lot easier to buy one in better condition.
But, they aren't making too many new ones, and certainly not for the price of rebuilding a reasonable example.
