A question for Jack

Not intending to steal the thread from Jack, just my 2 cents worth. That looks like the one on my MkII, but it is only 3-4" long. It connects the two metal lines together to act as a shock absorber. If you can zoom in on this photo, you will see it just to the right of the heater blower bracket. This is an old photo of a bugeye I restored many years ago.

The one on Ms Triss looked exactly like that.

MIne looks just like yours, Ray. Seems like about 3/8" or so in diameter with a 1/16" hole for the pipe. I'm not sure the "braid" is anything more than a pattern molded into a rubber hose.

The 64,000 question - can you get this anywhere? Mine had a split so I replaced it with some kind of something from a motorcycle parts bin.

I bought this on Ebay from of all places British Masters. Their stuff is usually pretty pricey but this was very reasonably prices for what appears to be OEM. The rubber is in excellent shape. The pipes and fittings are in good shape.

that is it in fact.
