A question about logos

Hi group, I am a supporting vendor (su-filters) and am about to start producing a filter for the HS-2 type carbs. Since these are used on many spridgets I thought I might make something special for these cars. Of course I make an MG octagon logo and an Austin-Healey with the wings but I was thinking about the Sprite "arrow" logo. I can't seem to find any Midget logo other than plain script, if someone knows of one, please let me know. I have attached (maybe) a screen shot from a CAD system that will give you a better idea of what I am thinking about.
The filters will be somewhere around 5.25 to 5.5" in diameter and about 2.5 thick and will include a stub air horn. TIA for any thoughts suggestions on this project.

Cheers!
Dave G.

That would be good/okay for a bugeye but not for the later cars. The arrow was only used for the bugeye. Later cars just used the SPRITE block letters. That would be more appropriate for them.

Wow, make it to fit H1 and H2 carbs 1 1/8 and 1 1/4 and we rock.

I am afraid I don't know enough about an H-1 to even answer whether the HS-2 type would be adaptable. making the bore to 1 1/8" is no problem but the stud locations or the small intake hole location(s) might be. If anyone has this information on the H-1 please post, I would be very interested to find out more about these (I knew they existed but don't recall ever seeing one).

Cheers!

DAve can you make a sample CAD with the block Midget letters I would surely buy a set for my twin su's. Do you have any idea about price, and what are you using for the filter media?

I would think the one for the Austin Healey might even look better with a AH on it rather than the Bugeye logo you have.

If you would PM me your address I will send you a Gasket for the H1 and the H2 that would be all you would need to fit.

Since we're talking about stuff for HS2s and since this applies to more than just Spridgets, why not make some "universal" BMC logos? I was thinking about a small version of the Safety Fast rosette. That would broaden the application to more cars than just the Spridgets.

I like the idea of an "AH" like on the hubcaps for a Sprite. That would seem to be a nice compliment to an MG octagon.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will look into them today as time permits.
One thing that I may not have made clear, the other logos that are now available (AH wings, MG octagon, etc.) will be available on these filters. The Sprite/Midget logos (whatever they turn out to be) will be additional choices.
As to the filters construction see the site https://su-filters.com for details, pricing will be a bit less than the "coaxial" filter although I won't have the final cost until I finish the design and tooling required.
Again thanks for your thoughts and suggestions.

Cheers!

Dave, those are purdy, a few questions.

Do they come in different colors?

Do they have stacks?

I like 'em

In answer ...
Yes they can be anodized or painted (I would go powder coat on painting but it is up to you).

Yes they ALL have stacks, when you buy the basic filter it includes a 13mm "stub" air horn built in. These will be more effective in the smaller throat models such as the HS-2.
The next 'standard" size up for the air horns is 28mm this is an effective length for an intake track of around 16 to 18 inches - butterfly to intake valve. These cost extra and with most engines below 1600cc not as effective, as the intake track is shorter, no doubt there are exceptions.

So far I have decided to offer AH script (like the hubcaps) cause it's easy, midget script for the same reason, and the sprite "arrow" cause I like it! Now THERE is a marketing strategy!

Cheers!

Oh boy, oh boy. We gona get an AH like the hub caps. Save me a couple for sure. Think I will paint the inside of the AH engine green to match. I think I am gona like it.
