Got time with the Welder on Sunday and I can report success with installing the DS A-Post. Lots of grinding to do but door gap issues with back of door rubbing against body have been fixed. Things are even all around and yes stepping up the wire speed does result in more material and better welds. And no at this point I'm not attaching pictures of my welding efforts. Really ugly but door opens and closes properly. This was a major hurdle for me to overcome in having confidence to do just about anything with Bugsy. DS Door opens and closes with authority and gaps are pretty even. Now to fit the A- Post Outside Skin. 68 degrees yesterday is telling me drive time is coming and coming fast. Snow and Rain this AM but sunny and warm is coming soon.I'm doing the "Happy Dance".

Don't be bashful with the pictures. We were all novices at some time. Better to post them now and get helpful suggestions than later. If you have been welding for several years and they still look like crap (then you can be embarrassed-- like me).

This one, maybe?

No time to work out post this PM. I'll take a few more and send. I am proud of my door gaps. Better half figured I was over the edge when I came upstairs as she was on the phone and started jumping up and down in the kitchen," I did it, I did It, It worked, I did it!!!!!" She has no appreciation for the agony I went through worrying about welding in the A - Post.

Or you can take a cressent wrench and bend, align the lip around the door till the seals fit perfect.

Got to get over the A-Skin hurdle next. My welding sucked at first and then got progressively better. No time last night to get out to the garage. Back at it again tomorrow. Goal is to have a little more welding on A-Post completed, primed and painted underneath, and the A Post Skin in place by Sunday.

I took some pics but resolution is too big to fit, need t ocut down on image size and then I can reload and post to this page.
