Thanks to BCF we can search through the immense accumulation of knowledge, techniques, proper tools, and off-the-cuff banter BCF has hosted for over twenty years.

I've seen other popular forums dissolve into "look at my latest pix!" when they move to social media, FB for example. And as smartphone use has increased, the store of information on forums is often forgotten, and detailed explanations are often replaced with "Wow", "Super", "Awesome", "Great pic", and "Not at my laptop, so will send the info later", etc.

Just sayin'

+1. A solid testament to its moderator(s) AND its users.

I used to frequent a marque forum elsewhere, but the local expert gets very testy when anyone else tries to help answer a question. He's belittled me too many times to want to return, much less to try to help.

And just the other night, a marque FB page turned into an all-out flame fest when someone dared to ask a question. I tried to come to the OP's defense (and to be the first to actually attempt to answer the question), but ironically my post was blocked as "not following the rules."

There's a nice article on the Hagerty website this week about "Pay It Forward" and nowhere is that principle more aptly demonstrated than here.

Oh, and by the way -- THANKS EVERYONE! Chances are good you've taught me something here, even if you didn't mean to.

Don't know what happened but, I remember when we all looked a lot younger!

Someone tried to comfort me last weekend by offering "you're not going bald, you're just taller than your hair!"

Thanks, but... at 5'4", I am taller than literally nothing. I have to wear heels to kiss my wife. Unfortunately that also means she gets a great view of the bare scalp.

My claim used to be I was hypocritically bald (had a ponytail) but finally had to admit Hippocratic baldness. Shaved it all off.

The other explanation was that I had a transplant... from the top of my head to my lower jaw.

Used to work with a guy who was about that height. He would saw it was great for dating since everything was eye level....
