A New British Car Club!

I am delighted to report that we have formed a British Car Club on the Cumberland Plateau over the past weekend. The Cumberland Plateau is the largest wooded plateau on the North American Continent. It also happens to reside in East Central Tennessee.
Three of us have been plotting and planning for about 4 to 6 weeks to make this happen. July 12 was our organization lunch and meeting. 21 people showed up driving 7 LBC's. We were really happy to see the turnout.
We discussed future activities, a name for the club and the organization structure (very informal).
There were 3 MGB's a TD, two TR6's and a drop dead beautiful Austin Healy.
Will post some pictures as soon as I figure out how to get them off an email and into a folder.
Fun time had by all.

We own a farm on the plateau - its a big place (the plateau, not our farm)...so, where exactly is the club located?

Tony, most of us live in or around Crossville, our first meeting was Saturday at Ryans on main street. I sspect you know Bob Thomas, he was one of the originators.

Regards, Tinkerman

Funny.....I was just doing some research on the web last week about Crossville. I'd love to move from Memphis to either Crossville or Cookeville...if I can find a job there! Nice to know there's going to be a club in the area if I ever make it there!

Joe - I've lived in Cookeville (Jerri & I got our 1st masters degrees at Tennessee Tech) & we have a farm right outside Livingston on Dale Hollow Lake...know the Crossville area very well....I'd go for Crossville! Though there may be more jobs in Cookeville.

Cookeville is only what - 30-40 miles from Crossville? I'd be willing to commute! It would still be quicker than the 15 miles I travel to work now!

Hey guys....get me a line on a decent job in the Crossville or Cookeville area and you'll get a webmaster and a free website for your new club!

Hey, and its mostly downhill so you can toss the car in neutral & coast most of the way to work each day!
