No More. No iPod collection would be complete without Horse With No Name, Ventura Hiway, Sister Golden Hair, etc.

I'm sure you know this, but he was a US Air Force brat in the UK (like many of my cousins).

My first day of driving to my first job out of college, I listened to Horse With No Name on the radio. Great music.

Yep, I knew he was a brat and attended DoDs school (as did I in Germany).

I've actually been to the desert on a horse with no name (ok, he probably had a name, but I just called "whoa, boy!")

No, but it felt good to get out of the scorching sun!

Reminded of an incident: Downtown Bangkok, 1973. Top floor of The President Hotel, the penthouse bar had live entertainment for the evening. The five man group sang: "WE an Amelicannn Bannnn..." Never could get that outta my mind, the song was forever changed for me. Years later when we saw the movie "Air America" the band in that flik sang "Horse with No Name", an eerily similar and discordant performance. Ruined that song for me as well. Can't hear either one now without laughing/cringing.

RIP, Dan.

and there it is, the Air America reference, like Doc, everytime I hear that song all I can picture is a tall thin man and a short round man in white dinner jackets and big smiles.
