The Victoria BC MG club set out for another adventure on August 9th. Destination: Marina California via the beautiful coast route 101. Of the 13 cars that went, four were MGs including my recently rebuilt '73. We arrived at Marina on the fourth day after great fun and incredible scenery. While in the Monterey area, my wife and I toured Pebble Beach and Carmel and of course Cannery Row and the fantastic Monterey Aquarium. The highlight and the main reason for the trip was the classic car racing at Laguna Seca raceway. A fantastic array of classic cars and great racing. We ticked over 2400 miles on our return. The 'B ran great but did need a new fuel filter after a few coughing incidents. My fault. Should have replaced it before we went. We wished we could have had a dollar for the number of people on the road who said 'great car'. Surely, it was an unusual vehicle amongst the nondescript stuff that plies the highways today. But, not driving a roadster, they don't smell the garlic farms and eucalyptus trees and get the pleasure of 'English' air conditioning(a spray bottle full of water used freely when hot)as we did. Great time. Hope we can do it again.
