Just a few pictures for the Inauguration of New Mexico's newest governor, Susana Martinez.

Hector Pimmentel entertained the crowd while we waited for the new Gov to arrive. Pimmentel is know for some of the finest hand-crafted guitars in the world. Hector's brother, Robert made my own 12-string Pimmentel.

Your's truly and the better half at the Ball, all spiffed up like a new penny.

Boss, is the new Guv. Naturalized or a US native.

Good for you Basil, an exciting time I am sure. Great memories for you and your wife to remember.
Shirley and I were involved when a close friend ran for and was elected here in Wisconsin some years ago. An education and many great memories.

How did you like the camera you rented?

It was a much better camera than I was a photographer! But I loved it and the 18-200 lens was killer! I'm sure I could have done better had I had more time with the 7D, but I only had 1 day to get familiar with it. I would love to have a camera like this, or maybe a 5D Mark II.

Way to go!! Such a nice looking couple you are.

Basil,

Thanks - now we have an updated picture to post on
milk cartons when you go AWOL next time!

That's not really me - I photo shopped some anonymous guy's head on my shoulders. No idea who he is.

Sounds like you had some fun... And photography at events like this can be quite tricky, I suspect it was held in a large room with tall ceilings (correct?) if so that makes things far more difficult than normal and unless there were restrictions the use of a flash is pretty much required to get good photos...

Here is the original shot I pulled off the rental after it was returned to the shop.
