Amazing, after nineteen years in the same house, I finally get to meet a fellow car nut in the neighbourhood. Got a guided tour of his array of cars this evening.

He has, in no particular order, a Mercedes coupe (did not notice the designation, I was distracted.....a 1972 Alfa Spider, VW Corrado, Ferrari 328 with targa roof, 6,000 miles from new, Camarao convertible, and an early Firebird, looks like a '67 although I didn't ask.

His daily driver is an old pickup truck.

Yeah...it's funny. You don't expect to meet people who like cars as we do locally, but you do. Both of my best racing buddies live in my little rural town (they race a Mini and Sprite respectively).

And my UPS guy has been to a driver's school at Lime Rock.

Also, I have a guy with a summer cottage three doors down from our Summer house: he keeps an MG TD stored in his little garage all year 'round and drives it (always top down) in the Summer. Interestingly, he's not much of a car enthusiast. The car has been in his family since new and he just likes it for sentimental reasons.

Did it have wing(vent) windows??, if so, it's a '67, if
it had full windows in the doors, it's a '68...

awww man! Why didn't anyone warn me!

'67 Firebirds didn't have rear side marker lights -
- the '68's did (in the shape of the Pontiac arrowhead).
