A Chinese "MG"

Saw one of those new sedans with an MG emblem on it drive by today. Looks like a toyota with a misplaced emblem :cryin:

Re: A Chinese "MG"

I know the Chinese factory was trying to say that MG stood for "Modern Gentleman".

Lord Morris must be rolling over in his grave.

Re: A Chinese "MG"

It's all in the name, as they say. The chap rolling in his grave wouldn't like to be called "Lord Morris" either! Lord Nuffield, if you please, or before that Sir William Morris.
I have read somewhere that at the Shanghai motor show earlier this year the company formally dropped "Modern Gentleman", about time too!

Good thing, "Modern Gentleman" sounds like an upscale porn mag :jester:
