The thing was on a flatbed, couldn't give chase. Looked to be in a sorry state as well. Faded metallic blue one. Been decades since I'd seen one but the shape is unmistakeable.
 
Very cool. I love the shape of these things......they are the bee's knees.

If I had scads of cash I'd try to build one into a vintage racer.

I saw this one at our local "cruise night" restaurant in 2012.

Spotted--A Cheetah! I thought it was a joke, think about the animals markings, then I read the post, don't think I have seen the mechanical kind in the flesh, I had the slot car variety too. Was even more of a motor on wheels than the Cobra.
