A bit of a mess

Well I started the wiring for the new switches and gauges and figured I'd see what I could use and what I'd have to wire new and ended up with this.....

I was (or maybe I wasn't) surprised by how many things were grounded to only 2 places, so in order to get rid of a lot of wire and neaten things up I installed a double grounded bus bar under the dash...

Here's the modified harness for converting the wipers and washers from a stalk to switches and the cowl section with relocated hazard switch and plug in wiper/washer stalk hole....

Bah, you haveing fun now. Just think how smart you will be when the job is finished.
 
I with ya on that rats nest. I'm just finishing up with a custom harness. My brain hurts.
 
Come on look at the brite side the Xmas tree and such should be a breeze this year. :laugh:
 
Hopefully you saved the original smoke that was in the original harness.

I've only had to do 1 custom harness & I sent my dash instruments/lights layout to the factory in the UK & had them do it for me! Fit perfectly!
 
Nah, don't worry about it. Creation is always a messy process. At least if it's done right...

BTW, the ground bus is a good idea. Seems like it shouldn't matter, but it often does.
