A smoking 98*F today; primary AC unit dead.
A good day for sleeping and pooling with cold drinks.

What's the temps around BCF world?

102 today and humid nasty day here.

A very pleasant 75 degrees and sunny here in Scotland! Took a nice drive up to Perth yesterday in the TR. Not many local government workers get paid for that!!

High of 87 low of 68. Not too bad for Almost July.

That's not bad at all. At least you're getting a break at night.

We had a mini heat-wave here. My recording thermometer maxed out at 102. About 30° too warm for me, but that's what A/C is for. A week ago I think it stayed up around 89 at 10pm.

The last few days been in the mid-90s, now at 10am it's 86 and humid.

What a horrible day here on the island!

A major Sahara desert dust storm is sweeping over us.
The air "tastes" gritty and looks like smoke from a forest fire.
The sidewalks are gritty and the sun is a yellowish
grey globe in a smoky sky, no blue that I can see, no clouds-
just grey dust swirling about..

They are predicting 103* to 105* today.

Dale, Weather Channel is reporting current current temps (It was 91 at 11AM but "feels like 102" due to humidity - Why I hated Biloxi). Sounds like things will cool off a bit for you tomorrow with high of just 88*.

Hi Basil,

Sometimes it's a good thing the weatherman makes
a bad call. We hit 96*F at 2:30 PM and that's plenty
hot for us. I hope you're correct we will see a cooling
trend. Our local weather is still calling for another
week in the 90's. That's quite warm for us in June.

We sure hope the Sahara desert dust cloud is gone
by tomorrow. Folks with lung problems had a difficult
day today. The sky is now a blue/grey instead of dark grey.
So maybe it was not a huge dust area.

best regards,

Dale (Tinster)

Edit: It's down to 92*F at 6:30 PM
here in Bayamon - we don't always get the ocean
breeze cooling- wish we did!!

Upper 80's and sunny here in Chicago today, with a decent breeze coming in off the lake. Much less humid than the last few days. Wednesday was miserable-mid 90's and it rained for a while in the early afternoon, making it way swampy.

Ditto whut Scott said. 'cept I LIKE it. :smirk:

I start to shiver at temps below 70F... part reptile, apparently.

BTW: Whut's this A/C thingie?

There's someplace for everyone Doc. Personally I think the weather from about April-October in Florida sucks. Things change, but my long-term plans are to retire somewhere north - Maine, preferably.

Yeah, I know.

...and it's been raining "up there" now for about three weeks straight.

Scott- Thanks for the photos views- stunning!
Basil- Thanks for the hopes of cooler weather today
but sadly Weather.com is not all that accurate for the
Caribbean. We find NOAA is more accurate for the islands
and coastal locations.

It hit 91*F at 9:30 AM this morning at our house and the
Sahara dust storm is so bad today there are health alerts
in the newspaper, radio and TV. They are warning folks with
Asthma and COPD (Dale) to remain indoors in air conditioned,
filtered air. I'll probably don a dust mask and jump in the pool.

Here's what NOAA had to say last night: It's mighty grim!!
I certainly would have preferred the Weather.com predict.

"NOAA: AN EVEN HEAVIER SAL (SAHARAN AIR LAYER) AREA TO MOVE OVERHEAD DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS...PERHAPS LOWERING VISIBILITY A BIT...BUT MAINLY JUST STABILIZING AIR MASS. WITH SOUTHEASTERLY FLOW TOMORROW AND THICK SAL LAYER...EXPECTING HI TEMP OF 93 IN SAN JUAN. A HOT...HAZY...AND HUMID START TO THE WEEKEND."

best regards,

Dale (Tinster)
