907 oil pressure

The 907 in my JH-5 is building up so much oil pressure it is blowing out the gasket on oil filters.

Took off the oil pump assembly and the sleeve on the bypass valve has moved so that it will not allow any oil through the hole.

From the distributor side the sleeve is now .85 inches from the face. Does anyone have an assembly handy that could tell me what the proper placement should be?

I'm surprised that you've not yet had a response to your query. You might try in the Other British Car forum. I've gotten great help there for my J-H.

I've been "outta town" over th' last two days, will look in the 907 literature I have handy for any insight, too.

Steve: No good data in the J-H Workshop Manual on the sleeve but I have a PDF of a related service bulletin I've scanned. PM me your e-mail addy? Too big a file to attach here, if I convert it, you can't read it.

Dale? Any luck with the carb screw yet?

Yes Doc, The folks at Delta had one and the cup shaped star washer. Auto Zone's sizing jig indicated a 10-32 screw which I got, but will wait now 'til the one from Delta shows up. Thanks for your help and encouragement.

And Thank YOU! ya confirm'd Delta is still goin'!!

dang, I totally missed this one. I'v got carbs to spare (and scres and the like).

Tullamore, you get a good answer or do you want me to go find mine and photo it for you?

Jody
