9" rear brakes

I'm looking for a set of 9" rear brakes (I need to have a hand brake) and have been told that this was the size used on the rear of TR2'3 and TR3's. Can someone please tell me if this is correct and, if so, what is the width of the shoe?

Re: 9" rear brakes

Essentially, yes. Note, however, that earlier cars used Lockheed brakes (depending on vintage, either 9" or 10" rear brakes), and later cars used Girling brakes (again depending on vintage, either 10" or 9" brakes)! I believe shoe width was always 1.75", but I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong there.

Re: 9" rear brakes

Michael- Can't help you with your quest but your home brought up some old memories. Used to spend my summers in a place called the Ranch Club, and also at the Navy base that was down there when my Uncle was in town.

Andy--

I am still holding a pair of Herald brakes that I think you wanted.

Don--

The "Ranch Club" is now properly known as "Chesapeake Ranch Estates".
