On checking the car prior to Winter storage I found the entire fan has stress cracks [it is made of a yellow composite material]. Can anyone suggest an after market replacement? Thank you.

As I see it, you have two options.

1. Replace the blade with an OEM blade. Don't trust a used one.

2. Replace the fan with an electic one.

You might want to check out if there is a new blade available. On my 91 XJS, the orginal yellow blade was prone to cracking, there was a factory replacement made of black platic, I recall hearing, but i can't remember where, that the same black blade was used on the XJ40 as well as the XJS.

I also have seen an aftermarket blade that does not use a fan clutch and has flexible metal blades. It is cheaper than the original but it is also noisy. I would not recommend it. The original equipment blade is very durable and not expensive. What fails more often is the fan clutch. Dont take chances however since the fan can get lose from the clutch and puncture the radiator.
