I have found a '80 Spitfire (cheap) that is missing the distributor. Any ideas how much a replacement would cost? Best place to find one?

Supposedly, the car only has ~50k miles but has been sitting for a while. Former VA car with what sounds like some minor body cancer. The engine supposedly turns over too. Was supposed to run before removal of distributor.

Has new top, boot cover, tornneau (sp?) cover. OD tranny.

The car is a victim of divorce.

When the electronic ignition in my 79 died, I just went and got a distributor off a midget with points and used it. You ought to find a used one somewhere for less than $20. If you want one with electronic ignition, I'd send you my old unit, but mind you its fried, and I'm not sure how much it'd cost to fix.
 
After bringing home my 75 Spit a few weeks ago, I discovered that a previous owner had removed the 45D4 (electronci) distributor and installed a 25d4 (non electronic) distributor out of a midget. Probably because it was to expensive to fix or replace. The 25d4 works fine, but I'm saving up my money to purchase the Petronics distributor and coil for Christmas (no more points /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif). Here's the info on my distributor if it helps:
