'79B Cooling Fans run [blink] after ignition off

So I replaced my hazard switch which fixed my turn signals. Now I have a strange situation where the cooling fans blink, I mean it seems like a flasher is sending them alternating power after the ignition is off. It somehow must be related to the hazard switch because turning ON the hazard switch shuts off the fan cycling. If the car sits and cools (it's mid 70s here in Chicago) the fans stop cycling. Do I have a bad switch (just purchased from Victoria British) or is there some wires crossed somewhere?

Thanks.

lol, I am not sure whats wrong...probably crossed wires, gotta love those Lucas electrics!!!

How long do they run afterwards? & is it every time or only when the car's hot?

My '79 that I bought brand new has done that since it was new...way back when, I asked the service manager of the MG dealership about it - he said it was supposed to do it if the temperature was above a certain level & that they would stop when it cooled down....did, does...everything seems okay

yea, but won't that make it wear out prematurely? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

And where is that dealer now, in case you need him? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif
