I bouught new visor clips to replace the old ones. I did it on my MGB no problem as they were screws. My Midget has two rivets in each plastic visor clip. Do I drill them out and then put screws in? i am afraid I won't be able to find a very short, self tapping screw once I drill those rivets. Any suggestions??

thanks!

I did that on my 78.
You have to drill them out, careful - don't drill too deep and use as short screws as you can.
It's aluminum, if you are careful it can be done but will be easy to strip it out.
Anyone have any luck using some kind of rivet?

I can't see how you would rivet them unless you did it while the glass was out of the frame.

oohh.this looks UNPromising!!! lol...i guess i'll go to Sears first to find some short self tappers! Never drilled a rivet before...is it easy or are they ridiculous to drill?

Somewhere in between easy and ridiculous IMHO.
I believe there is a special drill bit made for this, or maybe I'm thinking of a spot weld bit...

I drilled mine out, not too hard. Then I filled the holes w/ epoxy and redrilled small holes for a self tapping screw.
5 years now and they are still fastened tight

thanks all!
