Was thinking of cutting my own material and covering them. Is plywood a good choice? I am trying to figure out what kiind of material I can use and cut to size thats not too thick. Was considering haveing a professional upholstery shop for autos do the covering. Thoughts?

How about luan, or thin plexi?

I agree with Mark! Luan "door skin" at Home Depot. Thin AND cost-effective! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif
