Want to upgrade my original Lucas coil to a 40K sport coil. It has the internal resistor so I need to bypass the ballast resistor that runs across the front of the radiator. I have the converted distributor for the external amplifier. Looking at the wiring diagram is shows a ballast resistor and a distributor resistor. I'm thinking the distributor resistor was done away with or is in the amplifier when the distributor was change from the old OPUS to the CEI version but not sure. Moss and VB only say that the ballast has to be bypassed. Any ignition system experts know how to get this coil to work so it doesn't burn out. Wife will kill me if I wait anymore money.
