78 Midget windshield woes....

I recently replaced my windshield and ordered the R and L post seals from VB. I found that the channel on the seals was much narrower than the windshield channel in the side posts. I'm not sure what year my windshield is from. Not sure if I should clamp/glue these or look for something correct. They will not stay in as they are. If I put the screw in at the bottom, it just twists toward the top and pops out. Are there any suggestions for a clean installation of these?

VB catalog p.50 item number 4 in image. It states all years.

Hi Ed,
I had the same problem with a set of seals from Austin Healey Spares. I have a '64 and a spare '75 windshield and the channel is the same size. I think they are just the wrong seal. I ended up gluing mine in with contact cement. It seems to be working but I'm not too happy with the seals. Does anyone know where to get the correct seals?

I haven't changed mine out, but every rubber piece i've ever used from

has been absolutely top quality and fit. Don't try to order from the websight. CALL. It may take some time to actually get hold of a human. Persevere. Talk to him. Settle in and be prepared to wait. You WON'T be disappointed with the product.
