MGB 78 MGB idle question

Greetings,

I'm new to the forum - We just purchased a 78 MGB and for the first couple of weeks everything was fine. I had to replace the smog pump bracket. After I replaced the bracket - I bleed the coolant system and everything was fine the car ran great.
The next day my wife was going for a drive and the car would not start.
After researching starting on this forum I found out that I should check the damper oil. I found that the damper was dry.
The car started after adding oil to the damper. But now I have a very rough idle and I have to keep my foot on the accelerator peddle to keep it idling.

I've gone thru the ignition system and found a bad wire on my number 3 cylinder. I did a complete wire cap and rotor replacement and still have the idle issues.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

May be a good time to take the chamber top off and check the diaphragm for holes or splits. Hold the piston/diaphragm up to a light source and stretch it a bit while giving it a good visual inspection.
