My 77 B has developed a problem that has me scratching my head, It was to continue running after I turn off the key. The symptoms are a very rough and shakey few seconds of idling then it dies. Any thoughts or suggestions on what to check, adjust, etc.?

Regards John

I'd check to make sure the Anti-run on valve is energizing when you switch the ignition off. And make sure it's connected to the ZS carburetor...

If you don't have the stock ZS carb on the car... uhm... I'm not really sure where to start.

What type gas you using? Did you recently change the type or octane of the gas?

Oh, is it the OE carb?

Yep, its still the OE carb and I have been using 87 octane fuel. Got to thinking last night (made my head hurt) I leaned the mixture a full turn before it started this run on business. Would that cause the problem.

Regards John

Could well - I'd put a couple of tanks of 93-octane in it also

it could. With it that lean, you could "floor it" as you switch off the ignition and it'd probably prevent or at the very least reduce the likely hood of the run-on. 1 full turn is ~a LOT~ on a ZS carb. If i'm not mistaken, it's only 2.5 turns from full lean to full rich.
