It's springtime....if you don't have your car sold by August (at least in the north) you'll have it all winter.

All this buying and selling shows the hobby is healthy....cars are being restored and sold. New owners are coming into the hobby, etc. It's a good thing.

My guess is that the prices for TR's is up and a bunch of people want to cash in on the rise. Particularly dealers. It's not an issue of people wanting to get rid of them. It's more like people wanting to make money.
Good Spitfires are not bringing the kind of money that a good TR will bring. I suspect there are plenty of Spitfire owners who would like to get rid of their cars, but can't bring themselves to do so in the current market.
I didn't look at every ad on the link, but I do subscribe to Hemmimgs. What I've noticed on the TRs over the last several years is that a large percentage of the ads are from dealers. Typically the ads do not include information about mileage, major service...etc They say nice driver, or fresh respray... maybe... good entry level car. In other words not full descriptions of the condition.

I think with auction values for big TRs now consistently being $15-20K it is going to bring lots of cars out of the woodwork.

I think a lot of people throw them out there at a high price more than willing to sell it if the right sucker...I mean buyer comes along. I see the same thing in real estate all the time.

By the way I'll take $19000 for my 71 TR6, it only needs most everything. I feel obligated to throw in my favorite ad quote "RAN WHEN PARKED".

Brent, don't give it up too soon. In another 10 years, there will be a lot less on the road and the price will be up there. Look at the Healeys as they became more scarce.

No car is worth more than a buyer is willing to pay, but that value is generally guided by the law of supply and demand.

FYI (for yall's information)
I checked my April hemmings last night. The total number of TRs listed was 50. This includes everything from TR2 through TR6. I did not include TR7 or TR8. There are 50 cars advertised. 27 of those were advertised by dealers. 2 others may be dealer ads, based on the web addresses, but I did not include them in the 27.
As Skip mentioned the prices are on the rise, the cars are coming out of the woodwork. We may be entering a sellers market. It's also a buyer-beware market. As you can tell by some of the strange and expensive cars showing up on EBay.

I was watching Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach last nite and a fresh, VERY over-restored healey BJ8 went for a whopping $125K...beautiful car...black with creme coves...
