TR6 74 TR6 value?

A friend of mine is considering selling his 74 TR6 and wants to know the approximate value. I know this is very subjective and you can't see the condition nor can I describe it very well. Just looking for ball park and recent sale history if you have any data.

This is an original condition 1974,57K mile, Pimento (Campbell Soup Red) with black interior. All new bushings, rubber/poly, shocks and brakes. This is a very clean car and shows well.

Is an original condition low mileage car more valuble than a low mileage ground up restoration? Or is that in the eys of the beholder?

Any commments would be welcomed.

Thanks

With that description, somewhere between $10 and $12,000. I will offer $20 sight unseen.

I recently talked to Dennis Wilson at Wilson Motor Car Company, and has sold a lot of Brit cars over the years. He told me that some cars really fluctuate in their pricing depending on fads, but over the years he said that TR6's and MGB's have had the most stable pricing. Therefore, you may consider visiting one of the car web sites that sells cars and do an estimate there.

If by 'original' you mean it still has the original paint, original upholstery, etc and all that is in very good condition then (my opinion) that (with the low miles) can be more desirable than a restored example.

Just for fun, there's a '74 TR6 in the LA times, ground up restoration, at $29,500! (strangely, my wife ponted this out to me.... I wonder what that means...)

Yes, original paint and not sure about the seat covers. Yes, pictures would help tell the story but I don't have any at the moment.

Paul, we went to the BLW for the cruise on Sat. and the show on Sun. Talked with many interesting people and had a great time. I saw your car in person and it is a beauty!!!!

Thanks for the feed back and comments...I'll pass them along.
