Hello, listers, I'm about to "present" my ignition assembly to the steering column, and there's a collar there I don't remember from before: https://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p52/mrv8q/IMG_0510.jpg
I thought it might go towards the firewall, where all the felt stuff is, but that's all normal; it also won't fit around the assembly itself, where it would lock the steering column... any ideas?
