TR6 '74 TR6 driveline query.

So I'm examining my driveline, really for the first time.... ( how Triumph got away w/ a cardboard driveline cover amazes me). Anyway, here's a pic of my driveline U-joint.

What intrigues me is the lack of a zerk where that screw is... is that normal? Are these sealed bearings? My TR3 is loaded w/ zerks; I think one zerk has another zerk on it. Is it advisable to add a zerk here, where the screw is, and what size would it be, if I could add one? These TR6 beasts are quite different my simple TR3... TIA!

I found the screws on u joints on one of the cars I had a while ago.
If you remove it, you should be able to run a 1/4-28 grease fitting in for lube purposes. You may want to test the joint for clearance with the fitting in place or just replace it with the screw.

Many cars of the era used 'plugs' instead of zerk fittings. Most didn't even have zerks on the driveline at all.

As far as the 'cardboard' tunnel goes we used to have floor 'boards'! REAL boards....
