Where does the right hand heater control cable go to? I've only looked quickly under the dash and don't see anything obvious. The cable that is connected to the control is only about 18" long, so it may have been chopped short.
Artmck, It goes to the heater box bottom. It's attached to a vent that allows heat to flow down, then up the coil heater hose to you windshield vents. At least thats how it is on my 70'. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif
It may have been left unattached when the PO realised what a "skill test" it is to reinstall the cable to the flap. Look for a grommeted hole to the right and just above where the demister tubes come out of the box. Access to the attachment point on the diverter flap can be gained by removing the cover and tubes, and the right side footwell vent. Hope you've got the li'l pinch bolt cable end too. You can see the attachment point or you can touch it... doubt you'll be able to do both at the same time tho. Kinda like threadin' a sewing needle by Braille /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Remove the heater box, install the cable on it, slide cable through grommeted hole in firewall as you're refitting heater box...then, attach to control
