TR6 74 1/2 TR6 Steering Column Support

I picked up this partly restored TR6 that has been sitting for 10 years. A lot of parts were missing so I'm trying to figure out what I need for final assembly.
I am trying to understand how the steering column is supported. It appears that there should be a brace that secures it to the body. However, I don't have one and the parts manuals don't show or give good info on a part or where to mount it.
Any help?

Larry

Yes, I've checked several parts diagrams. TRF says the support rod shown is for TR without steering lock, mine has lock. The only support of the column that I can see is the bracket at the firewall and two bolts that hold it to the dash plate. Just does not seem like enough to me.

You mean DJ43?
Mine had that and it had a lock

Okay, I got under the dash and found a bolt hole up high and just out of line with the steering column. It looks as though nothing has ever been attached there. Think I'll make a brace and secure it there. The one pictured in the manual looks like that's where it would mount.
