Every time I put the car in reverse I blow a fuse..so the back up light switch is faulty. Problem is my detailed V-12 manual shows a switch on the diagram but the location is never shown.


Any help?

Not sure on that new......and we are talking manual trans, right?......top cover, you'll see it, and it isn't the switch.

If it was, the fuse would blow as soon as you turned on the ignition.
Since it blows when you actuate the switch, it's load side.

Pinched a wire somewhere, run a screw through, or actual reverse light assembly is shorted.

Unplug the reverse light in the boot or under the rear valence, try it again.
If it blows, the issue is wiring. If it doesn't, it's the lamp fixture.
 
Found it finally in the manual under TRANSMISION. Its on top of the tranny...Have to remove half the car to get to it...


I have never been a good electrical wiring troubleshooter.. thanks for the advice...will let you know...

Remove the spare tyre cover, and gas tank cover to gain (some) access to the bullet connectors for the lights. Look for evidence of prior repairs (taped up splices and things like that ) Also, look at the grommets where the wires come out of the body, if they are missing or displaced the wires can chafe there. finally (or mebbe first) make sure one of the bulbs has not come loose and is shorting to the lamp housing.
 
Will do..the spare has been out several times in the last few months (gas leak)...good chance problem is there.
