72 midget

I have a 72 midget that I have had for over 17 years...Having divorced 6 years ago...I took over the rebuild(it had been sitting for 5 years) I hav ei running great now except brake problems abound. I have rebuilt the master cylinder and am still experiencing leaks running down the brake pedal. I cannot afford a new master cylinder...does anyone know where I can get this one rebuilt or just buy a rebuilt one...I have 2 kids in sports, a full time job and no more money to work on my car...I have replaced most everything on her and have lots of lovely winding roads I would like to travel...but stopping is imperrative! Any input would be appreciated...Thanks...Lindy

If its been rebuilt properly & still leaks, there are 1 of 2 problems...a line is leaking at the flare, the master cyinder's too far gone to rebuild.

It can be resleaved, see Whitepoint for example.

Welcome to the Forum!
Do you wrench it yourself or have it serviced?

Welcome Lindy:

I may have a few cores in my garage. Some of them may even work. Price would be extremely reasonable. If your interested PM me, I will take a look make sure they are there.

I'll tel you - I've rebuilt my share of brake MC's...when one gets to the point a standard rebuild kit doesn't repair it, it goes in the round file...so far as cores are concerned - at my place that's what they are "cores" for a professional to redo...I don't sell used MC's unless they were working fine when I removed them from the car & haven't been sitting on the shelf long enough for the rubber to dry up

Were it me, I'd bite the bullet & get a new one - or at least a professionally rebuilt one! But that's just me....
