Be ready for the manifold to downpipe studs to break. If your lucky they won't, but be ready. Not a big deal since those pieces won't be going back in though. Also, Find a reliable straight edge and make sure that your header flanges (where it meets the head) is flat. If it's not, then your in for a fight fitting the header without it leaking. Headers are a prime example of the extra money for the higher quality being worth the trouble to your wallet. I have heard plenty of horror stories about getting cheap headers to fit. Good luck.

thanx for the insight!
i replaced them on my 73' GT6 about 12 years ago and I remeber having problems getting a wrench on a couple of the nuts. Is there a special wrench that is used? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif

After you think you have given the nuts a fair chance, just wrench hard enough to break the bolts. The manifold will likely survive and you will quickly remove the exhaust header. Later when you have more spare time, take the broken bolts out of the manifold by drilling, easy out or whatever. This process is much easer and faster than fooling around for a week with liquid wrench.

Now hury and tell me the difference you get in performance /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

So your saying if i cant get them to release, it's easier to snap off the nuts then replace the studs later?

Well I had real good luck for a change !!!

I heated the car up then sprayed the wd 40 on all the bolts.
I let the car cool down. I dropped a wrench on all the bolts and nuts & to my amazement all of them turnred freely. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif
