70s mini 850?

I just looked at a mini yesterday right hand drive, supposed to be a 74, which judging by the taillights and other features seems about right. The badges indicated it was an 850, can this be right, I thought they punched the motor out to bigger sizes in later production of the car?

Thanks, Greg

I think the 850 was discontinued in 1976. Later ones were 998 and 1275, and the 998 was dropped some time even later, I think.

I'm not sure what year they go to but if it's an 850 the engine ID# will start with an 8.
