The Christmas before last I wanted to do something for my oldest sister Jean. She had moved out here to New Mexico from Fl. after living there for many years(we're both originally from Cooperstown NY)...so I went on a small car hunt. Her first husband was an English car mechanic and freak and they owned mny As, Bs etc. I stumbled across a very nice 70 Midget a GI had to sell as he was moving to Guam. I bought it(cheap) and had boxes and boxes of extra parts, mostly new stuff. Beautiful little car, paint, top, interior...everything. Hid it at my shop, called her one day(24th. of dec...my birthday) and asked her where she was...shopping..gone for a while. Loaded it up, backed it up to the garage door, put a HUGE bow on the top and hauled hutt. Called her and she said she would be home in 10-15 minutes. She called crying and asking what it meant.....duh!! Shes about 5'2"...90 pounds. Perfect car...I tell her if she waters it it may grow into a B. She works at a farm ranch supply place and ranchers are always picking on her...telling her her car is stuck in thier tire treads or something. I'll get a pic or two of it and post it.

Yea, I was impressed as well. Very nice thing to do.

Wow great story & small world. My folks are from that area, Roseboom/Cherry Valley. They have lived there for almost 40 years.

Roseboom..Cherry Valley..go up there every time we're in Cooperstown. Our house is actually in Oaksville, on rte. 28 going out of C'town to Richfield Springs. I lived on main st. in C'town, wife and I graduated together there in 67. Joined the air Force..was in Vietnam a year later, did my 20, retired in 88...Batwoman and I have been married almost 38...or maybe thats 98 years. Went to school together since 5 years old.

Very cool. Just there last week and it was awesome. Mildest winter my Dad can remember. They are done there and will be moving to Mexico soon. Mom's hair salon in CV is now sold and their house is up for sale. Can't afford it myself & am going to miss that area. I might buy there one day although I may want a warmer climate for the MG bug.

I love the weather here in New Mexico. We got a big r/v..go to the mountains quite a bit..like roughing it..just kidding. Just got the sat.tv installed, air ride..all the comforts. Heres another of my toys.
