TR2/3/3A 7 LB Radiator Cap in TR3

I am. So far, no problems, and I know of a few others with 3s that do the same.

Edit: Just wanted to add, this change helps, but definitely doesn't eliminate overheating problems if that is your issue. Rule of thumb is 3 degrees F temp increase per psi, so you maybe get 10 degrees more before boil over.

We the 7psi cap also, but I tested the heater core and it held 20 psi shop air with no problem. If you plan to run a Smiths heater, be sure to check the core first rather than risk a nasty burn later.

I am running the 7# cap with a stock TR3 heater. No problems -- no boil overs, though the gauge goes higher than I want to see, sometimes... I guess it's helping.

I only use a 7lb cap on my TR6 and I have no issues in over 3,000 miles with it. I like my heater core in one piece and I see no reason to push the system up to 16lbs.
