Be needin' some help, Mon !! I'm a retired (sort of anyway) architect living with my Brit wife and 3 cats on the beautiful tropical isle of Puerto Rico. The wife bought me a fully restored (lies, damned lies) 1969 TR6 for Christmas. I am struggling mightily to get this once great machine into a street driveable condition. You name it and the previous owner had it held together with duct tape and rubber cement.

The internet is just about my only source of rebuild information available. I am told there is another TR6 on the island but I have never seen it. The auto requires almost a 100% restoration except there is no rust that I can find. The body is in very fine condition. Mechanically and wiring it is a bucket of bolts and does not presently run. Carbs were buggered to a fair-thee-well. I'm in process of installing a Dan Masters complete new wire harness. I am almost complete with rebuilding the rear suspension. Broken diff mount repaired and new rear oil seals completed. New brakes installed, moderate front end rebuild completed. New radiator installed and dry rot tires replaced.

It badly needs a new clutch and I have no idea about the trans or engine since the car has less than 2 hours driving time before it broke down for the duration.

All help, words of wisdom or encouragement appreciated.

Tin

You have come to the right place...mon! Now that you've introduced yourself, since you have a TR6 specific question, I'll move this to the Triumph forum where its more likely to be seen my Rumph folks! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: 69TR Island Roadster

I'm certain that if your wife would like to buy you a round trip ticket to send somebody down for the winter months to get your car sorted out, any one of us would gladly oblige.
