TR6 69 TR6 master cylinder help

When I bought my TR6 it was not running, and this included the brake system. There was a lot of corrosion on the driver side floor pan. Luckily I was able to remove all the rust, and I coated it in epoxy paint. Since there was corrosion on the pedal box, I figured the hydraulic fluid t had been leaking from the master cylinder. I sand blasted the pedal box and put in new bushings. The master cylinder chamber was corroded, and I had Apple Hydraulics resleeve it. One year later.... I can see a small puddle (about the size of a quarter) of hydraulic fluid dripping from the pedal box. Would it be safe to assume that it is again the master cylinder? Is this a common problem in the TR6's? Would this mean that fluid has leaked into the brake servo, and if so, how do I clean it out? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Master cylinder is leaking. You'll have to pull off and see if you can get to fluid in servo. What brake fluid are you using? Check your calipers too! If M/C went that fast they may be ready too! Preferred brake fluid is Castrol LMA or GT fluid.
 
It IS UNUSUAL for the rebuilds from Apple or the Post to leak. I know there is not much help if the reservoir at the point of contact with the cylinder leaks. Since you are not driving, I doubt it is a problems with the cap to reservoir not fitting properly( like Bills problem )unless you have the jacks high enough on one end or the other of the car to cause the fluid to get to the cap.

If your cylinder is like my '74 you have 1.) two lines that could leak at the cylinder, 2.) the cylinder at the piston end can leak, and 3.) the reservoir contact with the cylinder. (assume the cylinder body nor the reservoir have cracks)

You may be able to detect the leak with tissue paper or paper towel as either will show liquid better than the eye can see and you don't wait for it to actually drip.
 
Check the clutch master cylinder. It actually is in the drivers footwell. If the brake master is leaking, most of the fluid would go in the servo (booster).
 
Thanks for the advice. The sun came out today and I finally got the chance to push it out of the garage and make a closer inspection.It was actually the clutch master cylinder that was leaking. The clutch master cylinder worked about year before I got a few drips. After going though my records, I found my mistake. I bought a rebuild kit for the later TR6's with the .70 bore. Mine has the .75 bore. I am amazed it worked at all. Oh well, one mistake I won't make again.
