'69 seat covers

I will be redoing the interior in my '69 B soon, and have looked around several places for seat foam and covers for the '69 model. What I'm finding is that nobody offers covers for the '69 seats. It's either the early leather with piping, or the later seats with the round headrests. My head rests are the "Chicklet" type. Do you guys know where to find seat covers for my seats? Would it be better to just ditch the chicklet head rests and get ones for a later model? I'm not overly interested in keeping with concours originality as I am planning a biscuit interior and top on red paint. My car was originally white w/ black interior (who knows how long ago...it was painted red by a PO). Thanks in advance for your help!

You might try The Magic Carpet Factory Call 1-800-234-1104. It's a division of The Roadster Factory. They've been promising an update of their MGB cat forever, but it hasn't happened yet. Make sure they have it in stock before ordering.

I didn't think the '69s had headrests? Between that and the bolt mounts for the seatbelts mentioned in the other posts, are you sure you have a 1969 and not a 1970 model??? No offence intended, but it would not be the first time that an MG was mistitled with the year of manufacture instead of the model year.

If you do have the rare chicklet headrest, it might be impossible to find a vendor who makes covers for them as that type of head rest was only available for that one year. If I were you, I would cover my seats with an early style cover and do without the headrest, I think they cars look cleaner that way. But don't throw them away, they are quite rare.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I'm pretty sure my car's a '69. I'll get the commission number and post it. I ran it on the MG registry a few months ago and it came up as a '69. Good idea about just leaving off the headrests. I guess I could have an upholsterer do them if I really wanted to keep them.
