Spitfire 68 spit for sale near Ottawa, Ontario

The mechanic who worked on my last 3 has a blue 68 Mark III spitfire for sale with OD and hardtop... he is asking $8500. Car was his sons, bought in '85 (originally a California car)
and stored for a number of years more recently. I saw it on the lift and it looks largely rust free - bright chrome. He is going over it now and has promised photos. I can't say much on the car as I didn't spend much time looking at it and I don't know spits - but this was the same mechanic who complained that the PO on my last 3 used the wrong bolts when mounting the front fenders (fit was fine, bolts weren't) - so I suspect this is a very well sorted car... Anyway, if there is someone local interested, PM me and I will pass along the contact info...I have to go out there in a week or so anyway and can check it out further if someone is interested... if I had storage, I'd buy and store this one for my son (who's 11 now.. ). I doubt he is interested in dealing with shipping the car, but I could always ask...

What I wouldn't give to have infinite money, space and time. A 1968 Spitfire MkIII in Royal Blue with overdrive would be my ideal Spitfire.

If I had inginite time and money would have to fight you for it, would be my favorite too, I remember my brother drove a '68 spit when he was looking for his first car, I was along on the search with he and my dad, they took if for a ride, I wanted to go along as desparately as a car crazy 100 year old can. The car was black, rusty, and pretty ratty, but oh I thought it was pretty cool.
