except that they lack grip on wet roads.
I tried a pair of them, briefly, on my TR3A. The very first time I drove on a wet street (it had already stopped raining), I nearly spun out, because the Dunlops on the rear let go entirely just turning left from a stop light! MUCH worse in the wet than any other tire I've driven, including ones that were nearly bald.
A few weeks later, I accidentally drove over the edge of a broken curb, which cut a huge hole in the sidewall. Obviously hitting a curb is above and beyond, yet I've done similar things with other tires and never had that kind of damage. I threw them both away and bought something else.
According to Wikipedia, at this point, "Dunlop" is just a marketing name. Goodyear in the US owns the name, but they license other makers to use it, including Sumitomo, Dunlop Tires of India and Apollo Tires of India. Goodyear Dunlop still makes a very few tires in the UK, but they primarily import them from other countries including China, Slovenia and Poland.
