Spitfire 65 SPitfire4 Convertible Top

I purchased the car without a top. I am now trying to figure out how the top connects to the top of the windscreen. There are no posts or latches. The hood sticks do not have a header piece. I think that there must be a piece that is attached to the top and then it hooks under the trim at the top of the windshield.

Does anyone have a Spit of this vintage with a top installed or know how the front attaches to the windshield?

There are flat metal reinforcement bars that fit into sleeves stitched into the leading edge of the vinyl. In turn, those now-stiffened sleeves fit under the lip on the forward (above the glass) edge of the header rail finisher.
