So, I'm not happy with their appearance now that I've got them out & put them next to my freshly redone dash...

Anybody used Mo-Ma in Albuquerque, NM to rebuild/clean instruments?

So much for a quick clutch job, eh Tony?

I've heard that The Gauge Guys do a great job on that stuff.
Club member had his Jag instruments done by them.

Tell me about it, Drew!

It's one of the reasons I'm leaving chrome and paint until last, Tony. The pitted chrome keeps a bit of the patina, and makes the faded gauges and worn interior fit in. The mediocre paint job ties it all together. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I am curious to see who you wind up with for your gauges. Someday I'll want to rebuild the Tunebug gauges.

Gauges can be cleaned, the face. cotton swabs and water, do not rub. New rubber is available and the stainless rims can be buffed or replaces with good ones.

Don't forget the o ring between the dash and the insterment as well.

My combo guage is one of the Moss aftermarket so I want to go back with the correct one (I have one that needs rebuilding); my fuel guage needs a new face & there's some wear in the red portion of the tach

MO-MA in Albuquerque has about a 40-week wait; Nisonger is 6 weeks but they really don't want to redo faces unless necessary (they want to put good used one on fuel guage & clean the others - which are nice); West Coast has rebuild & restore prices, restore getting new faces & they have 4 week turn around....prices for all 3 are about the same.

So, its a toss up between Nisonger & West Coast....I know Nisonger; so.....

I feel more comfortable with who I know....

Added: Yep, think I made the right choice...I talked with Peter Bayer a couple of times this morning about what I want to do with my instruments...never gave him my email or other contact info...but, he had it in their files from back when (I guess) because I just got an email from him confirming everything about which we spoke this morning.

There was a place I knew of that restored TD guages but the name escapes me right now. I am not sure if they do Midget guages though.
